Read here about this year’s jury of the Hackathon Stuttgart:

We are really happy that this year again we do have a high quality jury for our Hackers. They are a really important part for the Hackathon Stuttgart 2017 and will decide about the teams who will reach the pitches. This year we have 150 Hackers on board so we are forced to do a preselection. Our jury will decide which 16 teams will be allowed to pitch their projects on sunday 2pm. Between 9:30 and 11:30 sunday morning they will screen all hacker teams and their projects. After that they have time to make a decision until 13:30 and we will make an announcement of the 16 teams at 13:45. In the following article we will present to you the different characters.

Dr. Jörg Sommer – BOSCH

Dr. Jörg Sommer manages and shapes the Bosch IoT Cloud (BIC), which drives the Bosch IoT business and connecting strategy. Since October 2014, Jörg has been responsible in different roles for the design, transition, and operation of the BIC platform.

Before that, he was responsible for the worldwide IT Infrastructure Architecture, Design & Strategy group at Bosch’s internal IT service provider. He started his career at Bosch in 2011. From 2005 to 2010, Jörg worked as a researcher at the University of Stuttgart.

Sumit Kumar – car2go

Since 2013 Sumit Kumar is building software for car2go and joined the company in 2016 as a Lead Developer inside the Product Creation Team.
His responsibilities include technology and architecture guidance as well as building internal, cross-functional development teams. The main focus of him lies around fleet-management and -distribution software.

Outside of car2go, he is actively participating in the Open Source community and speaks regularly at developer meetups around Germany.
Sumit Kumar worked as a developer in startups, agencies and on freelance projects since 2008 before joining car2go.

Dr. Ansgar Gerlicher – Hochschule der Medien

In the study course mobile media, Dr. Ansgar Gerlicher, is teaching mobile applications at the „Hochschule der Medien“ (HdM) in Stuttgart.
He is the founder of the science beacon „Responsive Media Experiences“ (REMEX) and of the „Digital and Innovations & Mobility Institute“ at the HdM.
Since 2010 he is a member of the program comitee at the symposium „Apps to Automotive“.
His research activities follow up with the integration of mobile devices, applications and cloud services to the automobile.
As well he deals with complex subjects like the vehicle-to-vehince / vehicle-to-infrastructure communication, mobile media and the safety of mobile media.

Leonhard Kerscher – Manager Digital Customer Application department at Kärcher

Leonhard Kerscher, Manager within the Digital Customer Application department at Alfred-Kärcher GmbH und Co. KG, is responsible for the implementation and operation of the customer focused applications. In the years before he managed a global outsourcing agreement as Account Executive at Hewlett-Packard Enterprise.

He holds a BSc in Business Information Systems from the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University Stuttgart.

Marc Röhrig – Lenze

Since 16 years, Marc Röhrig is part of the Lenze family. In this time he worked inside the Application-Engineering department as a developer for drive solutions in hard- and software.

He took over the responsibility of the Application-Engineering department in 2010.

In this role he is member of the I4.0 board of Lenze and coordinates IoT projects with international key customers.

Matthias Ulrich – logicline

Matthias Ulrich is acting for over 15 years as senior software architect, project manager and coach for various customers and industries. Additionally he’s supporting in the realization of technical complex IT-projects. At logicline he’s CTO and also responsible for HR and the growth and development of our competences in the fields of SOA, Cloud and Mobile Apps.

He already attended the past 4 Hackathons Stuttgart and at the Hackathon Stuttgart 14 „Hack for Culture“ he was Mentor from logicline side. Every year it’s a good experience, he said, and he’s proud to be on board this year in the jury again.

„I’m really curious about the ideas and results.“

Oliver Koeth – NTT DATA

Oliver Koeth is CTO of NTT DATA Deutschland and helps connecting German clients with the global innovation portfolio of NTT DATA.

Oliver is also overseeing the technical strategy of Altemista Cloud, NTT DATA’s cloud platform.

Even though much of Oliver’s time is eaten up by coordination and communication he is still trying to code for a few hours each week in his favourite programming language Go.

Sebastian Sooth – Startup Manager DB mindbox / DB Open Data

Sebastian Sooth is part of the DB mindbox Team, DB’s Accelerator program. With his collegues he supports start-ups and developers that want to collaborate with the DB.

As part of the DB Open Data Team, he teams Deutsche Bahn employees and other railways up with experts of the Open Data Community. Together they turn DB’s open data into innovative applications that aim to improve railway use for travelers. His professional experiences involving coworking, Wikipedia, Start ups and digital projects are great to find new ways for great digital services.

Andreas Witt – Head of Software Development TRUMPF Machine Tools
In the last three years since taking over responsibility for Software Development at TRUMPF Andreas Witt has taken agile development to a new level. Responsibility for the development of not only the machine HMI and the CAD/CAM Programming System has since fully gone over to the Product Owners and teams, but also he has pushed forward in the area of continuous integration and delivery. Since 2016 he is also responsible for the software part of TruConnect – the modular networking solutions from TRUMPF in terms of Industry 4.0.

Before his time at TRUMPF, Andreas Witt was responsible in various product management positions at United Internet (1&1) as well as SAP and Netviewer.
