About
A side project that grew
The Hackathon Stuttgart was organised by logicline from 2012 to 2019 – because, in our own words back then, “it’s cool”: the hackers, the sponsors and the networking between them.
How it started
The first edition in 2012 was a GameDev hackathon with around 35 participants in the logicline office. 2013 opened the topic to apps, websites, games and services; 2014 was all about culture (“Hack for Culture”). In 2013 there was also a special edition at university.
Changing the game in 2015
From our daily work with customers we knew: everybody talked about digitalisation, few knew how to start. So in 2015 we gave the hackathon a new focus – Cloud, Mobile and the Internet of Things – and turned it into a hands-on entry point for companies and developers alike. Sponsors brought real products and platforms; teams connected them in 48 hours. In 2019, FinTech and blockchain joined the line-up.
The format
- Friday evening: kick-off, platform intros, team building
- 48 hours of hacking, food, gadgets and very little sleep
- Sunday: pitches in front of the jury and the crowd
- Prizes for best idea, best pitch, best implementation, the crowd’s favourite – and sponsor challenges
The last edition
The 2019 edition was the last one. We are grateful for everything that came out of it – and for everyone who made it happen.
