Digital DB data treasure waiting for developers
With information displays in vehicle windows and QR codes for rapid customer feedback, the S-Bahn Stuttgart is already testing new ways of modern mobility, and is now offering an expansion of the DB Open Data portfolio. For the first time, DB Open Data also includes some real-time data of the S-Bahn Stuttgart for the hackathon, which was deposited there by the subsidiary of DB Regio AG and its customer, the Verband Region Stuttgart. It will be interesting to see which digital solutions can be developed from it. The Hackathon community has the opportunity to meet DB professionals and Open Data experts. In addition, on the DB platform, programmers and developers can access and reuse open data sets with a single click. This data is freely available and published under free licenses. As part of this initiative, we publish our railway data. The spectrum ranges from platform and lift data, the list of service points and route network to data on all aspects of Flinkster and Call a Bike. The portal is continuously being expanded under data.deutschebahn.com/apis, among other things with the release of various interfaces for application programming (so-called APIs).
